I don’t want to receive emails from this system.
I would get hundreds of them. I don’t want that.
How can I turn email notification off?
As can be expected, in your user preferences. There are a number of options in the Email section; I unchecked everything except for “When I don’t visit here, send an email digest of what’s new: weekly” and haven’t got a single email yet.
I believe this is a good setting for users who expect to be here regularly. For occasional users, it may make sense to have “Send me an email when someone messages me” and “Send me an email when someone quotes me, replies to my post, mentions my @username, or invites me to a topic” checked.
