Is it normal to rate 43,000 ratable entities at 5 stars, in seemingly alphabetical order, starting with special characters? Plus, how’d they manage to get a single special character as their username, is that even allowed. If it is, that seems like a major security flaw that should probably be fixed. Linux uses that symbol to store environment variables, for example, and unless MB is a major outliar, it’s running on a Linux server.
Could also be nothing, or it could be some site admin bot doing a thing I just happened to stumble across, or maybe it’s some happy dude who thinks 40,000 things are super awesome. Either way, I thought I should say something just in case.
They are always displayed in alphabetical order (which doesn’t mean the ratings are legit, but they could be - in principle, nothing in those ratings screams a problem to me).
Pretty much everything is allowed as a MB username. Maybe it shouldn’t be - it’s a historical decision that we sometimes regret But there’s nothing unexpected about this being available, anyway.
The right way to do this in the future is to report the user from their profile - then we admins can check whether something seems off without having a public post / accusation. I’m closing the post for now - in this case, I don’t see anything we should act on anyway.
