There’s a new suggestion on the style tracker to add “sound effects” as a secondary release group type for things like Release “BBC Sound Effects Library, Second Edition” by [no artist] - MusicBrainz. In theory, that seems perfectly sensible to me, since they are fairly distinctive things we don’t have a good way to classify at the moment. Does anyone have a good reason why this is not a good idea though?

What about “Audio samples”, “Audio library” or “Sound library”? the BBC example given could be classified as what is commonly known in the music production world as a “sample pack” of which there are already some in the database - Tag “sample pack” - MusicBrainz
I’m pretty sure @RandomMushroom128 added a bunch of those
I bring it up because “sound effects” is usually a subset / subfolder in a “sample pack” and that could cause confusion
