Should liner notes be added to the annotation

I upload PDF files of booklets when I have them (in covers). Now I have some linear notes in TXT files and I wonder should I add them to annotation or is there something else that is preferred?

Depends how long they are. I often add txt file notes to the annotation as they describe the release. Just check potential copyright issues.

Other times I have done a “print to PDF” of a text file, and then uploaded it with the artwork. You can argue it is a digital booklet.

I may add them to the edit logs so they do not get “lost”.

That doesn’t seem like correct thing to do  @dashv

We already have separate annotation history so it won’t get lost if somebody removes it, and it would be way easier to find it that way then hunting for random edit notes.

All depends. I work on all kinds of obscure things and have hundreds of notes stored locally that I scan through. Some times I add data and thoughts to the edit history with hope the next person may use instead of starting from scratch.

Yeah, but I am talking about linear notes which are official part of the release and on many places provided as text instead of scan (which is also native with digital releases).

Random notes, that can go into edit without problem.

I guess you meant liner notes, and edited the topic title.

@jesus2099, I was always wondering why they are called linear, rofl  Now it makes sense.

I find notes in the edit history can get lost. Edit histories for some releases can get drown in edit notes from recordings. Especially on a VA compilation. Too much is lost in edit notes. If it is useful knowledge stick it in the annotation where people will find it.
