Replacing [unknown] Artist with the correct one

Hi.

Can I include artists in tracks 13 and 14 in this release:

?

If you got the actual artists of the tracks then go ahead!

What does Special Purpose Artist mean?

Add or do not Add?

It says “Do not add here if possible”. So, “try to find out the data before you use this” - if you have, and you cannot find it, then it is unknown

It’s an artist entry in the MB database that does not represent a specific artist, but exists to handle special cases like the actual artist being unknown or there is actually no artist. See the documentation for more details and a list of special purpose artists:

But what I mean is this part: “Don’t Add”.
Where?

Is it that when I create a new release, I can use “Unknown” in the track Artist field?

If, of course, this Artist is not in the database.

No, it’s not meant to be used for artists that are just not yet in the database. It is only meant to be used for cases where the artist is actually unknown, even after research. That’s why the note says you shouldn’t use [unknown], if possible.

Also if some release or track has the artist set to [unknown] and there is some new information about who the actual artist is, the data should be updated.

Should be.
This is obvious.
