Recording_msid and what to do with it

Hey there! I assume it is a dumb question, but I’m having difficulties figuring out what I can do with the recording_msid inside the listens. I have simplified outputs to a json file where I want to analyze what genres users listen to, such as this one:

I figured I save the recording_msid since most listens do not have recording_mbid or unique ways to identificate artists. I hope I’m making sense with my question, I just want to know if the id could access more information on the listening event or music data if necessary. I saw there is mapping with mbid but I have no clue on how to do that or what more would I achieve doing that.

The main use case I would imagine for recording_msid is to manually submit a mapping (/1/metadata/submit_manual_mapping/), or if there is somehow an existing mapping, you can do /1/metadata/get_manual_mapping/.
