Is this a case to use “compilation of” recording relationships? It feels weird calling the earlier track a compilation…
I would link them by works.
Create a work of type prose representing the text of the book.
In the second release mark tach recording as a partial version recording of the work.

I would say so, yes. The link phrases could possibly be changed to make it sound less awkward.
