Reabbreviating a title track

Paul Simon’s Graceland features a Crazy Love, Vol. II track. On MusicBrainz, this has frequently been expanded to Crazy Love, Volume II. However, as far as I can see, it has always been written in abbreviated form on all the releases of the album, and all other Internet source (Wikipedia, Paul Simon’s official web site, articles, etc.) list it in abbreviated form.

(By the way, as far as I know, there never was a Volume I. This reinforces the artistic intent of having Vol. II be part of the title.)

I understand that in the past MusicBrainz preferred to normalize and “clean up” data. The current policy is to preserve the original spelling as long as the original is not a typo.

Shall I go and edit that Volume back into Vol.?

Yes.

The guidelines for this changed sometime prior to June 2nd 2015, which is why you may have seen “Vol.” expanded to “Volume” in older edits. For any new edits, you should keep it as it is written on the release.

[Actually explaining one’s reply is a much better way to go over 20 characters.]
