Random Tracks Missing Album Art

I have a 80-some GB music collection that I recently discovered Picard to fill in the metadata for stuff that wasn’t there, it was amazing! However I am finding that random tracks within an album still come up with music note rather than checkbox, and if I use one of my music apps it comes in out of sequence or as a separate album with the same name. When I look a these tracks, the metadata is correct but the album art is missing from the info. Is there a way to fix this? I apologize since I’m new to the application and its easier to ask than look up. I’d say if you have a 20 track album that maybe 2-3 are coming up this way.

When I select these tracks the save, info and remove buttons are not selectable, but they are clustered within the correct album otherwise

Thanks!

According to the Status Icons page from the Picard User Guide, the musical note indicates that the track on the release either has no file attached, or has more than one file attached. My guess is that these random tracks that you’re having problems with are being matched to a different album (which may not have cover art available). How are you processing your files, retrieving the releases from MusicBrainz and assigning the files to tracks on the releases? Are you following one of the Work Flow Recommendations, or is your process a bit different?

Those two or three tracks have identified as a different album. This is an example of why you need to do only a few albums at a time. then you can see where the rogue tracks have gone and drag them back into the correct album.

Also go into Options \ Metadata \ Preferred releases and tweak things to what you have. Example - push “compilations” down and “albums” up if you have more albums than Compilations. Then the bias works to better match what you have. (Many tracks will appear on multiple releases).

And use that Cluster button before trying to get a match. It helps keep albums together.
