[mailed in] [failure] I have my follow up doctor’s appointment on Wednesday, so I should be back later this week once he clears me, so yay.
I am not perfect, but I feel waaaay better than I did the last few weeks, I am nearly perfect, so that’s also yay.
I am really looking forward to attending the next meeting in flesh …well, online flesh.

this past week consisted mostly of helping silona get onboarded to various MeB systems
also updated our anubis deployments when new releases became available and did some misc patching in the process
as well as updating our monitoring software when new releases became available for those

[ansh] Last week, I was mostly focusing on improving LB Radio further to handle the traffic that endpoint has been getting.
And I’ve been doing some final testing before putting synapse into beta.

Last weekend, we got the Melon provider and a small Qobuz barcode fix merged, and I published a new Harmony release.
Additionally, I’ve added a warning when the suggested external links may already exist on MB, but the API is overloaded.
My first code contribution in months lol.
It hurts me to say that MB API nowadays seems to be the slowest part of Harmony

Last week I was mostly helping Silona Bonewald make sense of our finances and giving her access to stuff
This week I’m mostly off - I will try to help with some emails and whatnot (user renames and the like) but not very active otherwise

this week I spent wiring up docker for the graphql server
I’ll start trying to cover documentation on it soon as well

so last week i merge all namespace.json to one translation.json
and really refactored approx 50 files for this new json
write new test for thisnew format

[Silona Bonewald] I am busy meeting everyone and taking notes. Also have created a few surveys I am running past people to make sure next month when I start to get the numbers for the proposals I will be documenting ALL THE THINGS. For a listing what was last week and this week: ED checklist, Program management Checklist, Community Management checklist, Sponsorship Checklist, Volunteer survey, Contributor Survey, UX checklist, marketing checklist. Of course while doing some of the ED stuff with Reo last week Quickbooks review and many accounts created and documented for a new OnBoarding checklist for ED, Board, and team
People I have talked to reosarevok monkey bitmap zas lucifer ansh aerozol MonkeyPython outsidecontext jasje Jade I have yvanzo on the schedule and Hazel from the board for sponsorship stuff.
If anyone wants to suggest any other key volunteers to talk to or want to yourself! please ping me on chat!
I’m also checking out CRM tools. I would prefer open source but any suggestions out there would be welcomed.
May also be pondering Program management ones also - but would like ones with a lighter touch if you know what i mean!

last week, i worked on OAuth bug fixes and setting up MeB/LB for automated external service registration stuff.
also answered some support emails and worked a little on LB dumps.

Last week I was for the most part of the week just totally occupied by my day job. Managed to get some Picard reviews in, though, and some code contributions. We wanted to release a new beta this week, still have to decide how this goes because we had some big additional changes by zas : D

Last week I was busy preparing for a university hackathon,
The calibre plugin is mostly done ( apart from the collection search part, which needs to be discussed )
Waiting for final reviews from monkey, Hoping the PRs will get merged soon
Also was preparing final report for GSoC 2026, documenting my experience and what I learnt throughout the process

[mailed in] [monkey] Last week I worked on the BookBrainz database dumps, we had been leaking some CritiqueBrainz auth tokens in the public dumps.
A good occasion to review and improve the dumps mechanics generally.
I also worked on LB infrastructure some more, trying to fix load issues and stabilize services.
I had meetings with Silona and with Zas, helping the latter with a new project.
Also reviewed GSOC projects, and many other little things
I am on vacation from today to next Monday, see you all in a week!

Busy week! Got a nice talk with Silona. Launched LinkBrainz proof-of-concept (MBS-13444) from scratch, went from zero to a deployed test server with artist/album cards, about page, and all the infrastructure (DNS, docs, caching). For example and feedback: https://test.linkbrainz.org/3d303095-020a-4b65-94… (artist) and https://test.linkbrainz.org/r/4a67d3c7-92c1-43ef-… (album), you can try any artist mbid or release group mbids. Some design decisions were taken to keep it simple and maximize performance/cost to host. Design with the help and the feedback of monkey.

• MBS-13444: ShareBrainz - MB/LB smart links service

On the Picard side, made the Options dialog open 90% faster (PICARD-3371), fixed a nasty OAuth infinite retry loop (PICARD-3372), and finally squashed that annoying auth dialog flood bug that’s been open for years (PICARD-1638), along various UX improvements.

• PICARD-3371: Opening Options dialog is rather slow
• PICARD-3372: Infinite OAuth retry loop when refresh token is revoked
• PICARD-1638: Show authorization required dialog only once

Also patched a microcache leak, discovered by phw while testing Picard oauth changes, in the MB gateway that was serving private user data to anonymous requests (MBS-14440).
And mitigated a kernel CVE (CVE-2026-64531) across all our servers.
Reviewed, improved and merged a bunch of rdswift’s playground work (PICARD-3369) and cryobry’s batch tag removal PR (PICARD-3368).

• MBS-14440: Webservice requests can return authenticated data on unauthenticated requests
• PICARD-3369: Add a test playground for checking file names in local cover art options
• PICARD-3368: Removing multiple tags from multiple tracks is slow

Currently have the options page reorganization draft up for feedback (PICARD-3373).
Oh, and also added shell completion generation for picard-cli earlier in the week (PICARD-3367).
A new Picard beta version should be released tomorrow, it depends if we want to include Options reorg or not (at worse we can decide to merge and documentation updates will lag a bit).
Plus borgmatic documentation, and usual supervision, system upgrades, gave some thoughts about a new server for MB, etc.

at the start of last week I finished the latest MBS release after testing the docker changes, and applying a replication script fix (MBS-14413)
later I dealt with some postgres errors due to us hitting max_connections all of a sudden (which probably needs to be increased since the number of projects connecting to postgres has). I reduced some pgbouncer pool sizes, mainly for test services. a downside is that those services might have to wait slightly longer for a connection
I worked on finishing some pending AC validation fixes I had for reosarevok’s MBS-12761 PR which I’ll push soon
and also looked at some email confirmation issue from support + some webhook event failures

I modernized and fixed the alert handler for SEC tickets.
I switched SSO in Jira from MB OAuth to MeB OAuth.
Also had an MB dev meeting about MB Search upgrades for Q4.
