## Reviews

> [@leftmostcat](#):
>
> [mailed in] I’ve been working on providing feedback to BookBrainz GSoC applicants.

> [@mrkomododragon](#):
>
> [mailed in] This week, I primarily worked on revising my ListenBrainz proposal for integrating events from MB. I spent some time incorporating feedback and gaining a deeper understanding of the codebase of ListenBrainz to make the proposal match the existing components and structure.
> I hope to find more PRs to work on and contributing more to this project in the coming weeks.

> [@aerozol](#):
>
> [mailed in] A busy MeB week for me (compared to usual)
> Progressed public as well as secret new tshirt plans!
> Did social posting, moderation and a bit of GSoC chat/design-related ticket checking and feedback.
> Almost a full day’s work on LB-1971 (none of it uploaded yet), which is something that I’ve wanted to do for a while and decided to finally commit a good chunk of time to. Almost there!
> [[LB-1971](https://tickets.metabrainz.org/browse/LB-1971): Add options to Art Creator ‘LPs on the floor’]
> Played a show and started a new tattoo.

> [@failure\_san](#):
>
> [failure] last Saturday my system kinda broke, and i had to revert it back, and somehow this included my actual files; and i was writing my proposal in Obsidian, and welp, it’s not saved in the cloud (my hatred for the cloud has come to bite me in the ass)

> 'tis what it is : )

> [@failure\_san](#):

Last week, I refined [my proposal](https://community.metabrainz.org/t/gsoc-2026-playlists-sorting-and-organization-shreshth-sharma/814538), went deeper into the codebase, and addressed the feedback and questions Ansh left. It’s fully updated and submitted now! Going forward, I’m planning to hunt down some new issues once the proposal deadline passes so I can keep contributing and improving things. : )
> Apart from work, went on a hike trip with a few friends from college and it was a blast

> [@Lioncat6](#):
>
> I’ve been working on a small rework of SAMBL’s deep search to revamp the UI and add URL lookups and track artists to hopefully improve how useful it is.
> Also, I threw together this script for genius: [[new userscript: Genius MusicBrainz Buttons](https://community.metabrainz.org/t/a-new-musicbrainz-user-script-was-released/77897/219)]

> [@teayah](#):
>
> [teayahx] in the past week i [posted my proposal](https://community.metabrainz.org/t/gsoc-2026-listenbrainz-event-implementation/814545) and edited it again earlier today, and i also fixed something in a pr (3645) i had opened a bit before. but it also has been busy otherwise and i barely had room to breathe for a while and not atleast until neeext week :,)

> [@JadedBlueEyes](#):
>
> [Jade (she/her)] Finally submitted all the coursework I was behind on
> Also did my tax return, which was painful lol
> so I should be much more free now :3

> [@haris](#):
>
> Worked on LB-1884, made some commits to it, it still needs work for local instances. Worked a lot on [the SoC proposal](https://community.metabrainz.org/t/gsoc-2026-showcase-musicbrainz-events-in-listenbrainz/814445), anxiously checking for feedback everyday lol, finally submitted it on the portal as well. Also worked on aerozol’s beautiful mockups for LB-1973, very fun stuff. Thought it should be done quickly since it will be required for the events page. Also I remember seeing somewhere that you have to open a pr related to your SoC project. I guess it kinda counts…? Anyways, looked at some PRs as well. Fucked up my sleep schedule again :’)
> [[LB-1884](https://tickets.metabrainz.org/browse/LB-1884): Import starred/loved songs from Navidrome]
> [[LB-1973](https://tickets.metabrainz.org/browse/LB-1973): Fix the scroll-bar on “Fresh releases” page]

> [@reosarevok](#):
>
> Last week I kept dealing with migrating MetaBrainz-related accounts in a billion places to our password manager and moving some to not go directly to unused emails (some were even aliases to emails that were gone for years…)
> Dealt with emails, got a new Bronze supporter in
> And started looking at a bunch of Spain-office-related paperwork
> Which is going to be muy divertido

> [@bitmap](#):
>
> last week I spent more time on code review/gsoc proposal review, and opened a few musicbrainz-server PRs
> one for upgrading our docker base images, and some other ones for MBS-14307, MBS-14308, MBS-14309
> [[MBS-14307](https://tickets.metabrainz.org/browse/MBS-14307): Wikipedia extracts are not displaying]
> [[MBS-14308](https://tickets.metabrainz.org/browse/MBS-14308): “RangeError: Attempt to access memory outside buffer bounds” in the template renderer

> also fixed up some old internal database server documentation

> [@minus\_1](#):
>
> [minus\_one\_m1] I spent last week mostly working on [my proposal](https://community.metabrainz.org/t/gsoc-2026-daemon-that-corrects-out-of-sync-cover-art-and-event-art-metadata-on-archive-org/814396) after getting bitmap’s feedback
> also opened a PR for IMG-163
> [[IMG-163](https://tickets.metabrainz.org/browse/IMG-163): reload\_configuration ignores the custom config file]

## Summit dates

> [@reosarevok](#):
>
> Does anyone in the team have a big issue with October 12 to 16?

@ansh mentions that GSoC summit may be October as well. It seems it’s inconsistent when exactly - GSoC summit dates are usually announced in May. @yvanzo will email our contacts at GSoC to see if they know a date, and we will re-confirm the dates (12-16) based on the reply (if any).
