[mailed in] Last week, I fixed permissions in our Ansible playbook for Jira, and reviewed MBS PRs.
Updated the scripts to generate the MB DB schema diagram images with the new color scheme.
Also had a third shorter weekly meeting with bitmap and reosarevok about MB development.
Reminder: I’m mostly off for two weeks and will be back to take the baton from reosarevok.

• Released and posted the Veena mini-version release! [blog post]
  everyone cheer, that was a big achievement!!!
• Replied to the Proposal for new rel-type on Bookbrainz community discussion
• Started work on a very long and complicated book adding: Barnas Beste: Inn i vår tid!
• closed a couple of tickets as wont fix due to too broad concept or lack of information
• renamed an instrument to better reflect data and the how it’s actually been used

This week I’ll: Hopefully add more books!

Last week I’ve updated my dark userstyle for MB to account for some recent changes.
And the usual Harmony PR review, this time for the SoundCloud provider draft by lioncat6.

I… mostly worked on the recording form React PR again
I’m not going to say anymore that I think it’s ready, just in case
I also did quite a bit of work on MBS-14151 which I think now fixes the bug
[MBS-14151: Reorder art edit shouldn’t be entered if art has changed since form load]
Otherwise some code review, some style work
(we have an updated Italian guideline now at Style / Language / Italian - MusicBrainz and some extra bits about remixed RGs in Style / Release Group - MusicBrainz)
And banned spammers, of course

Last week, I worked on OAuth Webhooks and listen caching last week.

[mayhem] last week was more accounting, mapping, pr work. really more of the same, same.
the mapper continues to be a real challenge as I work my way down the special cases, which are getting esoteric.
but one new case often requires rework of existing things. going from 108 working cases, shooting for 109, when bam, back 102 working cases.
a game of inches as the 'mericans would say.
and today I started working on moving our cron monitoring to healthchecks.io, who were gracious enough to give us a free account with 99 cron jobs monitored for free.
free, right? free!

yes, I am getting very close to that. a lot of things I am doing are, it works, but people are dumb when they tag, so THIS should work too.
but I’m getting to the point of calling it quits soon and putting out an alpha.

Last week, I reviewed and merged a bunch of useful Picard PRs
I upgraded discourse
And I spent the weekend & today fighting back yet another wave of rogue AI bots (MB is slow… thanks to them). Mitigation as usual
Plus usual stuff, supervision, system upgrades and minor admin tasks. Plus MB edits of course.

as part of replacing our old monitoring system, i spun up a zabbix install to see if it works for our needs
seems to meet at least some needs, and it looks like there’s a good ansible module/collection for managing it
needs further work to see if complexity is worth it

Also continued work on Bootstrap 5 migration for BookBrains
Finished up some stats page improvements (up on ListenBrainz )

last week I finished updating [pull 3433] with mailpit/mb-mail-service integration in the tests

I started looking more into the OAuth2 login changes needed for MB, now pending some MeB changes from lucifer
and spent more time on code review, mostly for MBS-14177 and the recording edit form Reactification
[MBS-14177: Convert the artist date section to React]
over the weekend I fixed an issue with the incremental json dumps API endpoint, but it was just a temporary fix, so I’m preparing a proper patch today
and I banned a bunch of spammers

[jasje] Last week was fun
Fixed a prod issue on top of 2.9.5 and then went on to release 2.10.0. There have been lots of improvements to the listen service and its experience overall and the community reflects the same.
I’m trying to move tickets from jira to github issues since I feel they are much better for users to report issues to.
I still haven’t decided which one to stick with yet
picked up profile page improvements last weekend
experimenting with cool transitions for better ux
Compose multiplatform is still under wraps and will stretch
(basically android code for both android and iOS)

I continue to have little time due to work and some personal issues. But since end of the week it looked better, and I could do Picard code reviews and also did two PRs myself. And some forum support.
Also updated my musicbrainzws2 go package to support the recently added “event” filter in the MB event browse API.

[mamanullah7] Last week I’ve worked on LB-1851, and successfully fixed and it’s merged now!
[LB-1851: Playing a track from funkwhale doesn’t show the artist’s name]
Was exploring more about funkwhale federation and trying to find a better search approach for funkwhale
And also improved navidrome search and that pr also is merged now!
Right I’m celebrating Diwali ! Happy Diwali everyone

[fettuccinae] Last week, I’ve mostly spent time on understanding how user timeline events work in LB
Also, I tried to use suspense in react query loader for LB-1630, failed real hard, will try again later sometime !

Will continue to work on creating notification templates for track recommendation and troi-bot generated playlists
Thats it from my side! Off i go bursting some more crackers.

[Hemang Mishra] Nothing concrete this week Tried to work on issue where webview doesn’t work properly on Android 10. But couldn’t find any such issue currently. Would try to push an update with better error logging to isolate issue properly.
Other than that, I was learning something fun this week. Also traveling back home for Diwali
