<Freso> <BANG>
<Freso> Itâs World Kidney Cancer Q&A Monday!
<Freso> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AYwGB1j-sfQ
<Freso> No one has submitted any reviews by mail, soâŠ
<Freso> People up for reviews: ruaok, alastairp, yvanzo, bitmap, Freso, reosarevok, Mr_Monkey, pristine__, zas, jmp_music, prabal, diru1100, Cyna[m], ishaanshah, lucifer, shivam-kapila, CatQuest â anyone else who wish to give a review, please let me know ASAP!
<Freso> ruaok: Go! (I hope youâre feeling better!)
<ruaok> hey
<ruaok> I feel âbetterâ
<ruaok> I still have very little energy and what energy I do have I spend on the non-sense overhead work.
<BrainzGit> [listenbrainz-server] paramsingh merged pull request #924 (masterâŠentity_model_spark): LB-541: Add model for entity statistics in Spark LB-541: Add model for entity statistics in Spark by ishaanshah · Pull Request #924 · metabrainz/listenbrainz-server · GitHub
<ruaok> other parts of my days I just blankly stare at timescale tests that are failing for the various confusing reasons they do.
<ruaok> its not been a fun week and I have no indication that this week will be much better. shrug.
<ruaok> alastairp: you?
<alastairp> hi
<alastairp> Iâve taken the last changes that aidan pushed on his SoC project and integrated my speedup optimisations to that branch. Iâm just fixing some tests and itâll be ready to push and deploy (I guess failing tests are a thing thatâs going around)
<alastairp> Iâve also been working with jmp_music on getting his comparison of gaia and scikit-learn working, which is progressing well
<alastairp> at the end of the week I started building out the demo artist recommendation system that I worked on a month or so ago as a standalone repo that we can do some experiments with using the listenbrainz data that we have
<alastairp> done. yvanzo?
<yvanzo> hi!
<yvanzo> last week I released a new version of MusicBrainz Server.
<yvanzo> I helped with maintenance of Postgres instances, limiting logs size.
<yvanzo> I rebased an old PR on the current master and debugged SIR.
<yvanzo> Thatâs all from me, thanks! Go bitmap?
<bitmap> hello
<bitmap> last week I mostly worked on MBS-10911, for which I have the issue figured out but donât have a fix fully ready yet
<bitmap> https://tickets.metabrainz.org/browse/MBS-10911 since brainzbot is afk
<CatQuest> Ă„ffer ernâ deâ aâ?
<bitmap> itâs related to how the JSON dumps read changes from replication packets, but to summarize weâre not handling row deletions correctly because weâre applying the packets before we can follow the deleted data
<bitmap> other than that I also finished converting the UI bits of the ArtistCreditEditor to React (replacing jQuery UI) for integration with the Reactified âguess feat. artistsâ code. Iâll likely submit the ArtistCreditEditor parts first
<bitmap> not too much else to report other than investigating some issues with Floydâs load average late last night
<bitmap> thatâs a fin, Freso go!
<Freso>
<Freso> Leo_Verto: Can you revive BrainzBot? :x
<CatQuest>
<Freso> I donât see a way to do it from the web interface.
<Freso> Anyway. Review.
<Freso> (again)
<Freso> Iâve kind of gone into summer mode and spend most of the time lying and reading in the sun and not spending a lot of time on the computer(s), so consequently also not a lot of MeB stuff.
<Freso> I have been keeping up on some ban evaders and whacked-the-mole a couple of times.
\â CatQuest highfives freso
<Freso> Also copyedited and scheduled Mr_Monkeyâs post from Friday: Introducing the BookBrainz merging tool â MetaBrainz Blog
<Freso> And thatâs about it.
<Freso> reosarevok: Go!
<Freso> Or maybe Mr_Monkey, go!
<Mr_Monkey> Hi !
<Mr_Monkey> As mentioned above, last week I deployed the merge tool in production
<CatQuest>
<ruaok> woo!
<Mr_Monkey> Another good step forward was finishing and merging the API PRs and deploying a new version for all to test: Swagger UI
<Mr_Monkey> Feedback welcome on both of those projects, if you fancy giving them a spin
<Mr_Monkey> Spent the rest of the time settling technical debts, fixing SEC issues and general repo upkeep
<Mr_Monkey> diru1100: go !
<CatQuest> and listening ot me prattle
<diru1100> Thanks
<diru1100> Hello Everyone !!
<Freso> (People still up: pristine_, zas, jmp_music, prabal, Cyna[m], ishaanshah, lucifer, shivam-kapila, CatQuest(, reosarevok?) â anyone else who wish to give a review, please let me know ASAP!)
<CatQuest> hi!
<Mr_Monkey> And integrating valuable user feedback * There, I fixed it
<CatQuest>
<diru1100> i Rebased my code with upstream repo and sent a PR. Reviewd it with yvanzo and updated it.
<diru1100> Testing connectivity with MB and how to transfer data.
<diru1100> Thats it, Thank you!!
<CatQuest>
<diru1100> zas : go!!!
<zas> Hey
<CatQuest> hi!
<zas> Mainly worked on Picard PRs, we merged some very good patches, leading to huge speed up in processing, thanks to Gabriel
<zas> Plus usual maintenance, upgrades, white/black listing
<zas> Also filtered out some unwanted traffic after bitmap investigation regarding floydâs load
<zas> fin. jmp_music ?
<jmp_music> Hi!
<jmp_music> Last weekâs main work was about installing the last version of gaia and its dependencies. There were some issues that occurred on installation progress but thanks to alastairp 's help everything has been built successfully in a docker image.
<jmp_music> I did also a little research about how to parallelizing the code of NumPy arrays and the pandas DataFrames in the ML data preprocessing procedure.
<jmp_music> fin. prabal?
<prabal> Hi
<prabal> continued the work on UserCollection project
<CatQuest>
<prabal> added delete
collection route
<prabal> made changes in the previous PR after Mr_Monkeyâs review
<prabal> Thatâs it
<prabal> Whoâs next?
<prabal> Cyna[m]: ?
<prabal> i donât think heâs active rn
<prabal> ishaanshah: go/
<ishaanshah> Hey everyone
<CatQuest> hi!
<prabal> helluu
<ishaanshah> Last week I continued the statistics project
<ishaanshah> Worked on the backend for listening activity stats
<ishaanshah> Fixed chart page crash due to incorrect data for some users
<ishaanshah> thats about it for me
<ishaanshah> fin! lucifer go!
<lucifer> hi all!
<lucifer> I released the listen submission update for the app and fixed a few that were discovered in it
<Freso> (Only pristine and shivam-kapila and CatQuest (and maybe reosarevok) left. Last call for anyone else who wants to give review!)
<lucifer> Any feedback and testing is welcome!
<lucifer> I also looked into possibility of adding an acousticbrainz client in the android app
<lucifer> nothing sure yet
<lucifer> thats it for me
<lucifer> shivam-kapila: next?
<shivam-kapila> Hello everyone!
<shivam-kapila> Last week wasnât much productive towards LB side
<shivam-kapila> I tried integrating feedback components in the currebt design but that didnt look nice
<shivam-kapila> I made a PR to remove the BigQuery Stats section
<shivam-kapila> There was some home related work and some college work which took all my time
<CatQuest> that takes precedence though
<shivam-kapila> Today Mr_Monkey and me worked on integrating the user feedback into the LB dasboard and I will present it after reviews
<shivam-kapila> Waiting for your feedback
<shivam-kapila> Thats it for me
<shivam-kapila> CatQuest: go
<CatQuest> Meow! đș
<CatQuest> Things are âback to normalâ here, most everything is open as usual - letâs see how long it lasts
<CatQuest> in any case itâs been hot these two last weeks, but since I cant go to the beach/river Iâve been walking around and doing hpwu, also feeding some crows
<CatQuest> This week will be St. Hans which is like summer christmas so Iâll be afk for much of it
<CatQuest> However I have added a few BB tickets and have also written quite a lot on the rbab texts, downloaded texts from jstor and Grove have helped a lot!
<CatQuest> Today did some research on anatomy of books (ie BB-504)
<CatQuest> The library is also open again so Iâve been renting boooks!
<CatQuest>
<CatQuest> fin, go reosarevok if youâre around now?
<Freso> No word from reosarevok, so letâs maybe go to pristine until thereâs a life sign from reosarevok.
<CatQuest> yup
<CatQuest> go pristine
<Freso> Or maybe not.
<CatQuest>
<Freso> Alright, that seems to be everyone for reviews then.
<Freso> Thank you everyone for your reviews! We have one more item on todayâs agenda:
<Freso> Mr_Monkey, shivam-kapila: LB Dashboard Feedback
<shivam-kapila> Hello again guys
<CatQuest>
<shivam-kapila> So I wrote a forum post some days ago and we gathered some useful feedback about what to show and what not to show on the new LB dashboard
\â shivam-kapila Hereâs that if you want to have a look: The All New ListenBrainz
<shivam-kapila> We have worked on some mockups and we want yours ratings on them in descending order
<shivam-kapila> More about what you would like to see on the website and in its mobile version
<shivam-kapila> https://www.figma.com/file/PSXpqDEQ7Melwj14hBLZaj/ListenBrainz-Dashboard-(Experimentation)?node-id=0%3A1
<shivam-kapila> ^^ Hereâs the Figma
<shivam-kapila> The figma has 2 categories of items
<shivam-kapila> 1. For the mobile version, we want to know which header (i.e. the heading and the nav pills) you would prefer
<shivam-kapila> and which listens list would you prefer as the body
<shivam-kapila> So shall we rate them now?
<Mr_Monkey> Or would people prefer rating on the forum post ?
<shivam-kapila> Right question
<Freso> I like mobile version 2 (maybe 4) and desktop version 1. But I think it might be better to refer to the forum post.
<shivam-kapila> We will have a post too but I wanted to share it with the team first
<Freso> Doesnât seem like a lot of people are chiming inâŠ
<Freso> So letâs leave the âvotingâ for the forum post and conclude this meeting.
<shivam-kapila> yeah. we can move to conclude the meet if people are busy currently
<Freso> Alrighty. Thatâs all for tonightâs meeting then.
<ruaok> shivam-kapila: youâve asked for feedback repeatedly and gotten very little.
<Freso> Thank you all for your time! Stay safe!
<ruaok> you did your due. just get on with it now and build cool shit!
<Freso> </BANG>
