Live recording released in two parts

The ‘compilation’ relationship doesn’t seem appropriate to me. This is the definition:

This indicates that a recording is a compilation of several other recordings. This applies to one long recording that contains multiple songs, one after the other, in which the audio material of the original recordings has not been altered.

@jerry1970 can you link to this release? (sorry if you’ve already done so, but I can’t see it.)

Oh, sorry, I forgot!

This has the power cut with RTF split in two (15:42 in total):

Now I think this has the complete one as a single track:

But I will have to check this!

These ones have one index, but now I am not sure whether these include the power cut or not (which on the original LP is 14:00):
https://www.discogs.com/Nektar-Live-In-New-York/release/1729054
https://www.discogs.com/Nektar-Complete-Live-In-New-York-1974/release/6605789
https://www.discogs.com/Nektar-Live-In-New-York/release/8185026

The one long recording would be Crying In The Dark plus King Of Twilight. It contains the recordings of CITD and KOT, both linked to works with the same name, right?

Thanks, then I would treat this 16:15 recording as the “original” recording and link the others as being edits of it.

As you mentioned, disambiguations (and possibly annotations) would be useful for all these recordings. Anyway, you’re doing good work!

I was only talking about the recording Remember the Future, Part 1. I don’t know about these songs.

Annotations? Where can I add those?

Thanks! I hope I understand everything now. I think I chose one of the hardest to start with…

In the right sidebar under Editing select “Add annotation”. Note that annotations on recordings can only be added from recording pages not from release pages.

You do seem to have jumped right into the deep end.

@Kid_Devine has a good point. The “edit of” is more flexible than the “compiled in” relationship, so if there’s any question of different musical content (even a few missing bars), the edit approach is safer.
