Is there any way to filter my latest listens to find tracks that are missing links to MusicBrainz?

Hi everyone! I love using ListenBrainz in conjuction with other scrobbling tools (web-scrobbler, Pano Scrobbler). I don’t often log into the ListenBrainz app, but when I do, I try to match/link any unlinked tracks to the respective MBID entry. This, however, is tricky to do manually, and I would love to be able to filter the list of tracks down to just the ones that are unlinked.

This would also help me identify which tracks are in need of an entry in MusicBrainz…

Speaking of which: I wish the process of creating a new MusicBrainz entry via ListenBrainz was more streamlined.

For instance: I would love if it, via the filtered list of unlinked tracks, I could on the link :link: icon, have the “Link this Listen with MusicBrainz” dialog open with the track’s name and artist already pre-filled in the search field (instead of hving to type it manually), and if the track isn’t listed, there could be a button that users could click on to get the process of creating the MusicBrainz entry:

welcome to the ListenBrainz community~

you can find missing data in the settings page, right here: ListenBrainz

@mr_monkey is working on a very super excellent update to that page. The update currently lives on the test server - but with live data, so you can start using/test it to match your listens! The test server is prone to change/this update may be removed from there at any time, and is to be used at your own risk: Top secret link | Ticket for feedback

Great idea! It would be helpful to have a filter for unlinked tracks in ListenBrainz. Streamlining the process to link or create MusicBrainz entries directly from ListenBrainz would also save time. I hope these features get added soon!

We previously had something like that, but it resulted in the unwanted creation of a lot of standalone recordings instead of full releases!
We need to find a better way to gather information and propose its addition to MB, but I haven’t found that yet.
My best idea so far is to offer links to importers such as A-tisket or the new Harmony, based on the source links in the listen metadata (i.e. if listened from a supported importer source like Spotify/Deezer/Apple Music/Tidal/Bandcamp).

Bear in mind this will require some pretty big rewrites of these features, both front-end and back-end, and will take a while as we have other ongoing projects.

that’s an excellent idea~ I’m 100% on board with this

a thought I had on this, perhaps there’s a way to make an educated guess as to missing releases based on ListenBrainz listen metadata, even without external links like Spotify? like if multiple users listen to the same string of tracks with the same album artist and album name, could submit something to MusicBrainz for a possibly missing release?

(I think we’re getting a bit off-topic here, lol)

If you look underneath the first listen card, there is a “copy text” button that will do that for you.
The reason we don’t do that automatically is because some users might want to paste links to MB or MBIDs, but I’m open to discussion on that.

And indeed it is now on the beta website instead  ListenBrainz
