Is there any consensus on 2-track 7" release titles?

Sometimes they have both tracks, sometimes just the A-side.

The only thing I can find in the guidelines is “side A is the track that the single is named for”.

eg we have

and a later 7"

Both have a A-side and B-side, and in different release countries may have covers with track titles on…

I personally add both titles to the title, as is done on example #2, unless there’s a release cover which only has one title (or a completely different title, like Brad Is Dead)

Any particular reason why?

not particularly, that’s just how I’d seen it done several places, and I prefer it over the mystery B-side of example #1

I will note, I don’t often deal with 7″ vinyls, beyond importing them from Discogs to get an original release date on my older tracks in my library

That’s not even a guideline FWIW, just standard type docs.

I would generally do just side A if I know it’s a single with a B-side, and both if there’s no clear “you’re buying A and B just comes along for the ride” vibes, if that makes sense.

If I have a single in my hand with an “A Side” and a “B Side”, I would just name it after the A side.

If I have an “A Side” and “AA Side” then I’d name it after both. Didn’t they call these “double A sides”?

I usually think about what would appear in the music charts and how the artist promotes it.

With the Humble Pie examples I would just name all the singles after the A side. But that compilation I’d name after all three as they are equally prominent on the cover.
