Is it possible to generate a list with all the artists from a certain country?

I would like to list all the artists from Romania, is it possible to do that?
not all of them are tagged with romanian so I need to list the artists that have their Area: set to “Romania”

Try this: https://musicbrainz.org/search?query=area%3A"romania"&type=artist&method=advanced

or search area:“romania” in artist indexed search with advanced query syntax

Is it possible to search for Romanian persons and for Romanian groups? (fields: Area and Type)
I can’t find a way to search for such a type

You need to use the AND operator. See more: https://musicbrainz.org/doc/Indexed_Search_Syntax

For example, Romanian groups can be searched with: https://musicbrainz.org/search?query=area%3A"romania"+AND+type%3Agroup&type=artist&limit=25&method=advanced
