If I remember correctly, the correct behaviour would be to generate the fingerprints, then I click to submit the acoustID’s, and then if I generated them again the “Submit AcoustIDs” button would remain greyed out. Now everytime I do so that button comes back and I don’t know if it worked in the first place.

I don’t think that Picard can remember that you already uploaded the AcoustIDs for exact this specific tracks and this specific album. There could be a change in the track order, in track length, album version and so on.
