I have no proof for the release date of this CD

I’m not sure of this post is a heads up or a request for feedback / help but I thought it would be good to mention anyway.

Today, I added the CD Year End Report by The Dream Eaters, which was released today (2026/6/16) on Bandcamp. As I mention in the edit notes of the initial edits (you can see one example here), I received an e-mail about it today. The e-mail said included this line of text: “The Dream Eaters just added Year End Report, CD to Bandcamp, check it out here.” Unfortunately, I don’t know how I could share that e-mail on MusicBrainz, so the release date can’t backed up. Hopefully, this isn’t an issue. Usually, when I add a Bandcamp release that’s available in physical media, I just use the date of the digital release but in this case I know the physical medium was in fact released after the digital release and not at the same time.

If you know that the CD wasn’t available earlier, you should add the correct release date and write an annotation. The Bandcamp page says “released Dec 5, 2025” but that’s probably when the release was originally released - digitally!

Exactly, digitally, not on CD. So the CD release date should be when the CD listing was added to the artist’s store and thus, the release page.

Yes, and explain it in a release annotation to prevent it from being “fixed” at some point. The editor who wants to do that might not look up the entire edit history.

Thank you both. I just made the edit. Should I add a link to this forum thread as well?
