How to Properly Label a CD with Mixes

Hello, everyone,

So far, I’ve only added “regular” CDs (albums, singles, EPs) to my library. To do this, I imported them using Picard and filled in all the available information.

Now I have a CD with Christmas hit mixes (see photo). The tracks are labeled: Mix1, Mix2 …
As you can see in the photo, below each track label are the songs included in that mix (in regular font), followed by the artist (in italics).

Is it possible to create a CD like this in MB, and if so, how can I do it effectively? Calling the track “Mix 1” doesn’t make much sense, in my opinion. Nobody will search for that later in the player, and it doesn’t really tell you anything.

Can anyone help me?

with best

How is the CD split up? What tracks are on the CD when you submit a DiscID?

If this is a 10 track CD then is it as messy as you think it is.

Track 2 would be:

Track Title: Mix 2: Another Xmas / Christmas Time Baby / Candles / Hark, The Herald Angels Sing
Track Artist: Keith Marshall / Spence Davis / Chris Rea / Hollywood Sound Orchestra

Not very neat at all, but the only way that MB - and tagging apps - can handle this.

You also end up linking four separate works, and number those in order.

There are 10 tracks on the CD, and the length of each track exactly matches the duration given after “Mix n” in the track listing.

OK, then I’ll do it this way

I hope I got everything right

I would have used the names as on the cover Mix 1, Mix 2, Mix 3, Mix 4, etc as this is literally the titles…

OR you could have left that word “Mix:” off totally and just named the tracks.

Also your apostrophe’s have gone really weird.

Thanks for pointing that out. I’ve fixed it.

You fixed the apostrophe’s and titles on the track list, but forgot to copy to the recordings…

Please don’t leave before submitting your Disc ID.

I hope everything has been taken care of correctly now
