I’ll start off by saying I have OCD, and for the longest time I wanted to build an audio library, yet I always get triggered by something wrong (or the what-if). I know some folk on here will be fellas who have terabytes of music, and I wanted to ask how or if you ever obsessed about that anxiety of your collection being wrong - if that makes sense.
Basically, how to accept that anxiety?

The knowledge that MBID (MusicBrainz identifier) tags are the ultimate source greatly assuages my OCD.
I can drag my library into MusicBrainz Picard any time, with different settings, and adjust every tag and the whole folder structure with a click (and some time and patience, because it’s a big library…).
The people who pick a file structure/tags, without MBIDs, and then spend hundreds of hours/year manually tagging everything with no way back… yerp, stressful.
Ultimately the main work is done within the MusicBrainz website itself, where no second of time is wasted. Even if my HDD carks it. Editing MB is the ultimate OCD salve. That said, honestly, if you are really prone to unhealthy OCD maybe don’t build an audio library, find your fav non-shit streaming service and live a happy life…
