How i can edit some tracks to have another record on it

Hello, i had an album (an ep actually) that listenbrainz didn’t recognize, apart from a few songs. Went to check on musicbrainz and it wasn’t there so i added it and then linked all the songs on listenbrainz, except for two of them that are already linked to two different compilations

how do i link the songs to the proper album other than those compilations?

i noticed anyway that the album in question is not tagged as usual (with featurings in title rather than tags, as per musicbrainz) but the ep is a legit release and tags were already provided so left that way (as i do assume is what the artist intended), but in this case listenbrainz is recognizing only the two songs already present and ask me to list the others (althought this may be related to the other issue in the other thread)

As far as I know, there isn’t a good way to do this yet. You can only specify the album/release when you manually add a listen.

It is on the radar though. Here’s a related ticket: https://tickets.metabrainz.org/browse/LB-1399

What I do when I notice that a track is wrong in my listens is:

  • Note the time stamp
  • Delete the listen
  • Manually add the track (when you add you can now select the release that you were listening to) and add a custom time

For more complex ones with many different releases (e.g. The Beatles multiple disc versions) I tend to get the MDIB for the correct release of the album, manually add the album but just select the single track…
