# How do I search by barcode? I tried two methods but both found nothing

Here is a slightly off topic cool search tip I recently found thanks to @outsidecontext\*:

In [ZXing barcode scanner](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.zxing.client.android), settings, custom search URL, paste this:

```
https://musicbrainz.org/search?type=release&method=advanced&query=barcode%3A%s

```

I’ve been using this for only a few days and it’s  
huge, man, to manage my collection without having to type with my big fingers on my small screen, any more!
