Help with a new user setting up a new band

Hi there. Before I do anything wrong I was wondering if someone could assist me setting up a new band in the database. I’m a newbie to Musicbrainz but I’d like to help out.

I’ve been trying to set up Sheeza (Claire Tchula) and her band.

She performs solo as “Sheeza” and sometimes is backed with a band as “Sheeza”. She’s-a one-woman musical powerhouse. I’ve known her for a few years, and we’ve shared a stage on the same evening (different acts). She hasn’t released anything as a solo act yet, but I know she performs that way.

I was wondering if someone could look over my work and maybe guide me the right way? This seems like a little more complicated since she works solo and as a group under the same name.

When someone is A Person and A Band I’d put them in as two entities. Two different artists. One (the person) a member of the other (the group). You’ll need to use a disambiguation comments to tell them apart.

Especially as most of those social links say “sheezatheband”

That way the Person can have a “Legal Name” and the Group can have “Members”.

You could look to Sade as an example. Although her name is “Sade Adu,” she is generally known simply as “Sade,” and the albums are credited to the band. I think it’s similar enough to Sheeza’s situation to serve as a model.
