In the new Version (currently beta) of FestivalGuide you will find a new option to not group performances by stage. Do you like it? More than with grouping? You can decide about the default. Poll in reply to this post.
For the colors I used the colorblind-safe palette by Wong. Is here anyone who can approve its accessibility?
I personnally prefer results to be grouped as before because it looks cleaner and easier to read.
But, the new grouped view is really useful to see if there are some clashes between bands at the same time slots.
So for me both are useful, but the cleaner default is my favourite.
You can now share events including deep links.
Grouping the schedule by stage can now be toggled to have a better timeline through big events.
There is a new Place screen with details, links and events at that place.
Quick question, is it only possible to add entities related to a MB series ?
Which means it is not possible to add “regular” concerts (ie single event entities) in the app ?
It is possible to add concerts, but they are not directly searchable. I don’t have a good Idea for that yet, because lot of concerts will have similar names Artist XY at Venue YZ…
But you can find concerts, when you go to:
Artist Detail → Live tab
Add Event → Discover Concerts
1 is the usual way I look at and add concerts. There is also a separate tour screen, if the concerts have such relation.
Regarding Festivals and the need of a series: That part was the very first feature I implemented. I thought it would be a good Idea to add the series instead of one single festival episode, so you can get updates for new episodes. But now I think this should be reworked.
Maybe I will add the ability to add single episodes and optional following the series.
What do you think?
As for your question I must say I don’t really know…
The idea of following a festival seems quite right to me, even if I can’t go every year for example.
The filters will allow me to only see those events I attended so extra events I did not attended in the UI do not bother me that much.
But I understand the rationale behind adding only single festival occurences.
I’d say the current way is the most logical to me, but if you can add the option to only add single events it could help some people, or maybe when you’re sure you’ll never go back to a festival.
Thinking of it, tours are also a valid use case for importing only single events in series.
Most of the people will only attend one or two events in a whole tour.
For tours it is the other way around as you want it. You can just at single concerts. Following tours is not possible, because I agree with you. It makes no sense.
No problem. Finished the last bits today.
Thank you for adding some other festivals.
Would you add them to this Collection to keep some kind of overview?
I added the festivals that I am sure I will keep maintaining to the collection.
I added others in MB but I follow them less frequently and I’m not sure I’ll be able to keep them up to date every year so I did not added them to the collection for the moment.
