Discrepancy between title on WEB, artwork and data

What to do if a reissue has been posted on digital distribution systems in a hurry with a discrepancy between its name & artist credits on the artwork and title? Which data to enter? Since the CDs are documented, it is clear what the complete data should have been.

I have a case where the principal name of the album is missing from the metadata, and only the subtitle has been entered (“16 greatest hits from Italy”).

Sometimes the artist (performer) is wrong. I suspect this also was the cause for these releases to be pulled from iTunes. The correct data is on the artwork.

If you know there are errors on a track list, then you can correct them. Especially if you have artwork you can trust. Leave a note in the annotation to describe the errors that are corrected.

Some digital shops can be a little sloppy with their data.

Do we ever reconstruct diacritics that are missing from capital letters in Italian or French? I see sometimes this is done, but maybe it is wrong.
