Genre tags are quite recent, personal tags are the old main feature.

Just letting everyone know I’ve started the process of getting this fixed on musicbrainz-server. This will be my first contribution to the project, so bear with me. The issue is located here: https://tickets.metabrainz.org/browse/MBS-11367
It looks like a compromise was decided that if nothing has been typed in the input field then browser autocomplete should work, otherwise it should be disabled. Obviously that isn’t working, so, right now I’m getting the server set up locally to fix that.
