Difference in indexing between releases

I have an open merge edit, but I’m not sure if it’s right. https://musicbrainz.org/recording/0ca0f71d-aa93-4478-bcb2-bf2c7dd7b9a7/open_edits

As you can see there’s a 20 second discrepancy in time here. The two recordings are from Strjon by Henriksen, one from the original album, and the other from the Solidification box set. It turns out the discrepancy in time is from the two albums being indexed slightly different. The original album (https://musicbrainz.org/release/dcda838c-5b1d-4031-ac96-7a2180c49209) has ‘Glacier Descent’ at 7:31, and the following track ‘In the Light’ at 5:29. Solidification (https://musicbrainz.org/release/542294d8-a6f8-4f67-90dc-61a20e861817) has ‘Glacier Descent’ at 7:56 and ‘In the Light’ at 5:04. This was most likely done because the tracks are split between two sides of a vinyl record on Solidification, but segue into eachother on the original Strjon.

Should the two recordings be merged, or do they need to be seperate in this case?

I like to leave them separate and use disambiguation to indicate “includes segue to [next track]” and “includes segue from [previous track]” to indicate the differences on the appropriate recordings.

That makes sense. Or perhaps ‘Vinyl edit’ vs. ‘CD edit’. Maybe add a ‘edit of’ relationship.
