In case anyone fancies a project, there’s about 50 demo tapes from British indie/alt/pop available for auction at the moment, from an engineer’s own collection. On the assumption that the tracklistings shown are accurate, these could be an interesting inclusion into MusicBrainz? (They’re not bootlegs by standard definition, but neither are they formal releases, so I’m unclear what status they would have, but we have singing fish so I don’t doubt they could be included!)

> Here is our second instalment with stalwart British producer and engineer Chris Allison. We have dug deeper into his British indie and alt-rock archive of the late ’80s and ’90s. This fresh collection includes session DATs, studio acetates, test...

I’m about to be away for a week so can’t tackle them myself but it seems like a time-limited possibility…

They would be bootleg. But as there is only one copy of each some would argue they are not actually “released”. Currently just a “personal tape”. Though I guess the auction is now releasing them.

If you add them, it would be worth linking them all into a collection so their source can be explained.
