Contributing to BookBrainz - GSOC 2022

Hello everybody, I’m pranav desai a full stack developer from vit vellore, I was scanning through many project ideas and then I came across the Administration system project and the CritiqueBrainz reviews project, and that’s when I knew that this is the one I should go for. I am very much excited to contribute to MetaBrainz community and increase my learning curve. I will be skimming through the repos and docs for a few days and will get started with my proposal. Any advices which would help me in this journey?

Hi and welcome @Pranavdesai !

We’ve got some user documentation at https://bookbrainz-user-guide.readthedocs.io and some developer documentation here: https://bookbrainz-dev-docs.readthedocs.io

I assume you’ve seen it, but just in case we have some suggestions for projects (but not limited to) on our ideas page

I guess the first task would be to get your local environment set up and running following the instructions in the developer docs.
When you feel ready to try your hand on some bugs, we have “good first bug” category on our ticket tracker: Issue Navigator - MetaBrainz JIRA

Let me know if you’ve got questions! You can also come discuss on our IRC channel
