I am amazed at the proliferation of labels and titles too, but it all appears to be the same 1972 set of recordings. (I own the 1982 CFP LP version). Can anybody top this?
Discog’ers generally work on the pretense that if there is the slightest variation on pressing they will create a new release - which means that things get overinflated quickly, certainly with popular releases that have been pressed continually for many decades.
Some albums get repressed and reissued a LOT. And then sold in multiple countries. And add in a few bootlegs. Anything that makes it onto a second page at MB is up there in that list. Along with the above mentioned Dark Side of the Moon you’ll find Wish You Were Here running to two pages.
When an album has been around for 50+ years that can lead to a lot of packaging changes.
Discogs may be OTT with some of their tiny pressing differences at times, but MB can be as bad with the many different Digital Releases.
