Capitalization of "a" when not an article

How would you rationalize the correct capitalization of the letter/sound “a” when it is not an article or “A” as in the first in a sequence (“A-Team”). I have seen it written in both ways in databases and on print, including on a cover where most words are capitalized.

Examples:

“Time’s A-Wastin’”
“It Keeps Right on a-Hurtin’”
“Chug-A-Lug”
“Here We Come A-Wassailing”
“The Times They Are A-Changin’”
“Tick-a-Thumps My Heart”
“Just A-Sittin’ and A-Rockin’”
“Keep A-Knockin’”
“Ding-a-Dong”
“Bang Shang-a-Lang”
