Adjust Size of Metadata Panel

I was hoping for a way to freeze the horizontal bar in Picard (I’m now running RC3) as i find the horizontal bar jumping up and down to be extremely annoying as I’m working on adding missing files in Picard.

I see there is a check box under Options/quick settings menu that says “adjust horizontal position in file browser” but I don’t see any effect this check box has. If it’s actually for Picard’s file browser (Which I do not use) it is not the option I am looking for.

I would really love to be able to freeze the horizontal bar i the main page so it stays wherever I put it and doesn’t move unless I manually move it. I only need a small upper section of the Tag screen so keeping the horizontal bar at it’s lowest position would really make my day.

If this feature is not due for the upcoming release 3.0 then I request it for a future release.

Can you provide an annotated screenshot showing what you expect? I’m not sure to understand what’s the “horizontal bar” here. Do you mean the separator between metadata box and top part (2 or 3 panes) ?

Also what’s your environment? It is important when it comes to UI.

Sorry i should have left more details. I’m using Windows 11 Pro, and I’ am referring to the metadata box, it changes size (up and down) depending on what I’m doing in the main box above. If the Metadata box could be frozen at the minimum level that would be ideal.

I see, you can move it down when nothing is displayed and it is resized up when a cover art image is displayed?

It’s the cover art that affects the minimum size. If a cover art change happened there are two images displayed, otherwise only one. A workaround is to disable cover art display.

The issue is known, and we will look into a UI solution after the 3.0 release.
