it’s the one released in Italy (which is not yet present on MB).
When I enter the barcode, I get informed that I should check whether I’m not adding an exact duplicate…
How should I proceed?

Check whether the release you are adding is identical to the existing release. If it is, you can add the release event; if it isn’t, you can add a new release.

As @mfmeulenbelt says - check it is different. And then add notes in the annotation about your version to help other people understand that difference. I assume your Italian edition has different text on the back cover. This is a good reason for a separate edition in MB eyes. Go look at something like Dark Side of the Moon and you will find many copies with the same barcode.
