# Add a new artist - "Enter edit" button greyed out

How to proceed. Artist in compilation album is missing. Trying to add artist. Stuck here.

Ah. I need to copy the name to the sort name field. Why wasn’t it highlighted red?

It’s actually shown as **bold** to indicate a required field. 😉

Lol, I never noticed that before 😂

@chuck.kahn When you already have a Discogs link for the edit note, you should also paste it as an external link. This is going to help more future editors, because it is visible in the sidebar and you don’t have to go to the editing history 😉
