I’ve made an error…
I added this release (for the 12")
The artist is a duo K.Larm & J.Raninen - MusicBrainz
I now see that this release (for the digital version)
already exists in MB
but with the artists listed individually:
&
So I need to merge the release groups - that’s fine, but first the artists should be made the same on both versions…
Please can anyone advise - which is most appropriate: duo or individual artists?

https://www.discogs.com/artist/1264680-KLarm-JRaninen shows multiple releases by the duo over seven years and includes a logo that they’ve used on multiple releases, so I think it’s easy to make an argument for keeping the duo entity in MusicBrainz.
The downside (as you encountered) is that there will be duplicates since editors will (understandably) arbitrarily credit releases to either the individual artists or to the duo. You can add annotations to the individual artists pointing editors at the duo artist to try to cut down on this, but it’ll still happen.
https://tickets.metabrainz.org/browse/MBS-10868 would help with this (assuming the individuals are properly linked as eponymous members of the duo, which I’ve done now).
